Day 3 – On the set of Nandito Ako

We begin with a tweet from the boss:

David Archuleta’s First Acting Role at TV5

As opposed to bad luck associated with Friday the 13th, for me it turned out to be a lucky day, a really lucky day. I’m talking about meeting David Archuleta for the first time at his press conference for TV5 Manila’s newest mini-series, Nandito Ako.
This is David’s 4th visit to Manila and this time he’s staying for 3 weeks to shoot in Manila and Laguna. We all know that David is a singer and as preparation for his role as Josh, a singer as well, he did some acting workshops prior to flying in Manila. And speaking of flying, David confessed that he was listening to Nandito Ako all throughout his flight. Yes, he’s gonna be singing the mini-series’ theme and at the press con, he even sang the first few lines of Nandito Ako, upon our request.
During the press conference, I handed out a letter written by my daughter to David. Baby Fedoran, like me, are huge fans of David and since we never met him up close since his first visit, we just thought that a letter to show him how his music inspired Baby Fedoran would be a nice treat. Actually the letter is 2 years long overdue, it was in 2009 that we saw him at his first visit to the country for a concert opposite David Cook.
David was actually looking for my daughter after I read an excerpt of the letter and I hope that I can take her with me the next time I see David. Yup, TV5 Manila executive have tipped me that David’s going to have a fans days before he leaves.
And just like all his fans, we too, can’t wait to see David act. Though we’ve seen him act on Hannah Montana, this is different and special. As David will be taking a leave off in his career for two years after he’s done taping the mini-series, this is something that we fans will always treasure. And we have TV5 Manila to thank for bringing in David, giving him his first full acting role, and giving us the opportunity of watching David’s other side.
Nandito Ako will be airing Mondays to Fridays starting on the third week of February and will run for 5 weeks. David will star opposite home-grown Kapatid talents Jasmine Curtis Smith and Eula Caballero and Nandito Ako is directed by Mac Alejandre.
Thank You TV5 Manila for making my daughter and I’s dream come true. We sure hope to meet David again before he leaves so we can bid him farewell and wish him luck on his mission.
